MERRY CHRISTMAS

Welcome to the Christmas edition of the Newsletter. This month I have been asked to include some team news items, as well as a piece concerning the law and hockey, following the recent court decision to award a hockey player following an injury by another player. It will certainly give food for thought.

Despite the very wet weather this season the League and Cup games are well underway (giving the Fixture Secretary and Club Secretaries a headache in trying to reschedule games).

The Cup games are now at the quarter finals stage, which is to be played on 6th February. Both the Senior and the Junior Cups saw some high scored games Kibworth A v Kibworth B 13-0; Bedouins v Forest Wanderers A 5-1; Leicester Mixed v Wigston Crusaders 7-0; Druck v Horizon 12-0; Bedouin Hobos v Leicester Goans 3-4; Coalville Rangers v Market Harborough B 6-1. But probably the most nail-biting game of them all was the Horizon v Leicester Police, which not only had to be replayed after a one all draw, but ended in sudden death, with Horizon scoring the only goal in the game after the sixth attempt.

There have been a few changes in the third division following Grasshoppers leaving the Association and Mark Jones, Charts Secretary, has changed the leagues accordingly.

This month sees few changes throughout the
Divisions. Division One sees Kibworth A take the
lead. In Division Two Loughborough Carillon B lead,
having won all their games so far, but the division
is still close, with Baggies A yet still to win a game.

Other than Charles Keene and Coalville Rangers
battling out for the top of Division Three, there have
been no changes in this division.

Division Four sees little change at the top, with
Aardvarks scoring a one point lead lead by winning

against Oadby. Druck and Oadby move up the
Division, despite Druck having only two results.

Division Five sees Market Harborough C with a one
point lead, but both Kestrels and Rutland are
closely following.

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year
